WordCamp Europe 2024 Workshops: Here’s What to Expect

Published on May 7, 2024: WordCamp Europe 2024 is just around the corner, and attendees can expect to participate in a range of workshops. These workshops will be an excellent opportunity to work on actual problems while expanding knowledge and skills. Whether you’re a beginner or an expert, there will be something for everyone to learn and explore.  

During the two conference days, several workshops will be held. To participate in these workshops, you have to register first. However, there are certain requirements that you must fulfill to attend. What are those requirements? We’ll discuss them in this post along with information such as the location of the workshops, schedule, and much more. So let’s get started.

Information regarding the workshops

In WCEU 2024, workshop sessions are planned to give the participants a full immersive experience. Not only will the participants learn new skills while working on specific tasks, but they’ll also be able to apply those in their daily work.

The workshops in WCEU have limited space. So you need to act fast to secure your seat. Here is some information regarding the WordCamp Europe 2024 workshops.

Location: Sala Rossa, located at the back of Hall 1.

  • 9:15 am CEST – Accessibility testing workshop. (9:15 am – 10:15 am)
  • 10:15 am CEST – Break (10:15 am – 10:30 am)
  • 10:30 am CEST – Efficiency unleashed: A guide to automating WooCommerce through CLI (10:30 am – 11:30 am)
  • 11:30 am CEST – Break (11:30 am – 11:45 am)
  • 11:45 am CEST – Intro to the HTML API: Reliable, safe, and convenient (11:45 am – 12:45 pm)

Workshop requirements

As you can see in the schedule above, there are a variety of workshops. They cover topics such as development, SEO, and e-commerce. For maximum effectiveness, some workshops have specific requirements to participate in. Let’s discuss those requirements along with these particular workshops.

Workshop – Crafting an app with the site and block editor

To attend this workshop, you’ll need to have the following:

  • Laptop computer
  • WordPress instance with a block-based theme
  • “Super Progressive Web Apps” plugin

Optional (if you have licenses for these products)

  • Learndash
  • Conditional Block Pro

Workshop – Keyword research 101: Uncover keywords that bring you digital success

The requirement for this workshop is a laptop

Workshop – Ready to try the new product editor?

The requirements for this workshop are given below:

  • Ready to use development environment
  • WooCommerce plugin
  • Workshop repo clone
  • Familiarity with JavaScript (React)
  • IDE/Code Editor (for example, Visual Studio Code Editor)
  • Ready to use Node or NVM (Node Version Manager)

Workshop – Accessibility testing

The requirements for this workshop are as follows:

  • Headphones (for being able to listen to the sound of a screen reader)
  • Development environment to install plugins
  • Screen reader software (For Windows: NVDA – installation needed. For Mac: VoiceOver, already installed on your device)

Workshop – Efficiency unleashed: A guide to automating WooCommerce through CLI

Workshop requirements:

  • Laptop
  • WP-CLI installed and ready to use
  • Development environment

Workshop – Intro to the HTML API: Reliable, safe, and convenient

The requirements for this workshop are given below:

  • Laptop
  • Smartphone (so that you can scan a QR code)
