Here is the step by step process of how to create a course with MasterStudy LMS:

Creating the course 

• Log in to your WordPress dashboard.
• Go to MS LMS > Courses and click the Add New button.

• Fill up the Course information page.

Enter a catchy course title to give the students a clear understanding of the course. Select a Category and course level between Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced.

You can also upload the banner for the course.

• Press the blue Create button.

On the next page, you have to add new sections and lessons.

• 1) Click New section to add new sections to your curriculum.
• 2) Click Add a lesson to add lesson content.
• 3) In this section, add your lesson title, descriptions, etc.

Adding lessons

Next, you can fill your course with lessons. MasterStudy LMS allows you to create different types of lessons. But if you’re using the free version, you can create only a few types of lessons like Text and Video lessons. The paid version provides a lot more lesson types including Google Meet integration, an option to Stream, and Zoom calls. This means you can conduct live online classes too!

As we’re using the free version of MasterStudy LMS in this tutorial, we can only create Text and Video lessons. So let’s see how we can create these two lesson types.

Text lesson

First, we’re going to see how you can create a text lesson. This is a lesson type where students can read texts. To create this lesson type, follow the instructions below:

• Click Text lesson from the Select lesson type window (see the upper screenshot).

In the lesson section, you have to fill in the lesson information. Here, you can provide the following:

• Lesson name
• Lesson duration
• A short description of the lesson
• Lesson content
• Lesson materials

After that, click the “Create” button to add it and proceed on creating the text lesson type.

Video lesson

In most of the modern online courses, you’ll see video lessons. This is where the students have to watch a video in order to complete the lesson. Here’s how you can create a video lesson in MasterStudy:

• Click Video lesson from the Select lesson type window.

Adding video lessons is the same as Text lessons. You have to enter the title and everything. The main difference is you will be offered to choose the source of the video. You can add videos from multiple sources.

However, one thing needs to be mentioned. The free MasterStudy LMS version only allows selling courses with one-time purchase pricing. If you are a pro user, you will have multiple pricing systems.

However, Certificate is a paid addon feature. This means only pro users can use the certificates. If you are a paid user, go to MS LMS > LMS Settings > Addons. And enable the Certificate Builder addon. Then you can offer certificates.

Certificate options will be available on the left menu bar of the WordPress dashboard. You can create multiple templates from there.

Follow the instructions below for creating a custom certificate:

• Go to the WordPress dashboard.
• Click on Certificates.
• Create and design the certificate to your preferences.

You can choose any color, text size, alignment, and more in the certificate builder. Select the elements like Course, Student name, and Instructor to add to the certificate.

After designing the certificate, you have to select it from the Course Creation Setting. We will show you how.

• Go to your course dashboard and select edit.
• Click on the Settings tab and select Certificate.

• Choose the certificate you have designed for the course.
