Changing own WordPress account password

You can change your WordPress user account password from your profile editing interface. First, log in to your WordPress account. Then from the top right corner of the screen, hover over the “Howdy, username” section. Click the Edit Profile link.

Clicking the Set New Password button will generate a strong new password for you and it will appear in a field.

You can keep the displayed password as it is or modify it. If you click the Set New Password button again, it will generate another new password. 

After generating your strong new password, store it somewhere so that you can use it later to sign in. Then, scroll down and click the Update Profile button. The new password will be saved for your account.

As an admin, changing other users’ passwords

When you’re signed in to your WordPress admin account, you can change other users’ passwords using the same WordPress password generator. To do it, open the Users page from the left navigation bar. It will show a list of users on the site.

Click on any user’s name. This will open the user’s profile editing page. From here, scroll down to the Account Management section.

Click Update User, the new password will be set for the particular user’s account.
