Let’s explore some of the features of GiveWP. While there are a lot of features to talk about, first let’s get one thing out of the way. GiveWP has a very good free version that you can start with. It gives you almost all the essential features required for you to start your donation and fundraising WordPress site. 

Probably more features than you need. But what’s the catch you might ask, well, the catch are the addons. These are paid addons. But we will get to those later on. First let’s take a look at some features of GiveWP that we found super helpful.

• Campaign based fundraising: This is the first feature GiveWP mentions on their website when discussing features. This means, you can set up individual fundraising efforts, each focused on a specific cause or goal. These are referred to as Campaigns. You just simply click on the “Create Campaign” button and it will open up a form asking you to describe your campaign.

You can add a cover image for your campaign too. Once you’re done you can make your campaign live. GiveWP also provides you with customizable forms which we will talk about later on. Again, you can set a goal (like $10,000) and also track the goal live. So all the features that you require for your campaign are available.

• Landing pages: Landing pages are important for donation and fundraising campaigns. The target of these landing pages are to exhibit the story and inspire donors to contribute to the cause. Again, you can customize the design of the landing page using your page builder.

• Customizable donation forms: Donors complete their donation through the donation form. It is possible to customize these donation forms for your site. You can choose from several templates, or start from scratch and build the form according to your needs. The form can be created using the drag and drop builder and you can also customize other settings like visibility, header, description, confirmation page redirect, etc.

But if you get the paid version, you’ll have access to addons which will unlock more payment gateways such as Blink payment, Bitpay, Authorize.net, Mollie, 2checkout, iATS payments, and much more.

There are over 40 of these add-ons. It will be difficult to discuss all these addons, but we will talk about a few of them.

• Recurring donation: As the name suggests, this addon helps you turn your one-time donors into recurring donors. It gives your donors the option to become a regular donor. With it, you can offer donors to make regular weekly, monthly, quarterly, or annual pledges. 
• Funds and designations: With this addon you can set donation funds and designation to enhance your online fundraising structure. This will allow donors to choose which campaign, budget item, or organizational fund to donate to.
• Form field manager: Remember the drag and drop form builder of GiveWP? With this addon you get some additional fields to add to your donation form. You get fields like File Upload, URL, Repeat Field, etc. We felt that this is quite advanced and might not be necessary if you’re building a simple donation form. But if you have something advanced in mind, you can get this addon.
• Fee recovery: When making  donations, you also have to take the credit card processing fee into account. This processing fee takes quite a lot out of your total donations. With this addon you can ask your donors to help cover the processing fee. This will help reach the campaign goals a lot faster.
• Tributes: By using personalized tributes like “In honor of,” “In memory of,” or any other dedication you want, you can enable contributors to support your cause. Additionally, the GiveWP Tributes add-on allows you to create personalized mailable cards and send eCards that will be appreciated by your donors and their honorees. Additionally, this add-on creates an exportable list of the people who have been added as tributes and its own fundraising report.

Now the question is, what are the addons that you’re getting with each plan? Since there are 40+ addons, it will tire us out to mention each one. But we can mention a few. The Basic plan includes PDF Receipts, Zapier, Google Analytics, MailChimp, All Payment Gateways, etc. With the Plus plan you get everything except the Peer to Peer Fundraising and as expected, with the Pro plan you get it.
