Settings of the PostX post blocks
You can customize the post blocks in many ways from the settings option. All the blocks come with three general settings which are design, setting, and advanced. All the features are present in the settings option. You can import designs from the design option. You can add advanced CSS coding from the advanced option. We will talk mainly about the different settings option that will help you customize the post blocks.
1. General settings
From the general settings option, you can select the number of columns to be displayed. The gap between the columns is also controlled through this option. The height of the posts can be selected from here as well.
You can choose to show different information about the posts from here. The heading, title, excerpt, category, image, pagination, and more can be controlled from this section.
2. Query settings
The PostX plugin comes with advanced settings for your queries. You can select the type of quick query that you want from the drop-down option. You can also select the post type from the drop-down option.
Input the number of posts you want to come up with in the query. The query can be classified based on taxonomy such as category or tag. You can also sort the query based on date, title, and other things.
3. Heading settings

The color, typography, border, padding, and other useful settings can also be controlled from this option. You can choose to include or exclude the subheading too.
4. Title settings

5. Meta settings
If you’re not sure what’s the Metadata, it’s the author’s name, date of publishing the post, etc. Depending on the block you’re using, it could be displayed either before or after the excerpt. But you can customize the meta settings from this section.
The position of the metadata and its style can be chosen from the Meta settings. The kind of separator you want can be selected from the drop-down menu. If you want individual Meta settings for any of your blog posts for the purpose of SEO this is the best place to set them. The margin and the padding of the metadata can be controlled from here.
6. Category settings
You can set how you want the categories to be displayed with your blog posts from here. Choose what style you want for your categories from a list of options in the dropdown. Select what position the category would appear from the settings.
You can set the color and the background color of the category along with the border and the border-radius. The spacing and the padding can also be set from here. And for selecting a background color, you choose a solid color or a gradient color. You can also put a hovering effect for your categories. So when users hover their mouse over the categories, the color will change.

7. Image settings
Post images of a blog make up 90% (percentage might vary depending on the theme of the website) of the website’s design. For this reason, how the images are displayed is very important. So from the image settings, you can control how your images will be displayed.
Choose the size from different options like thumbnail, medium, or large. You can also select a hover animation for the images to make your posts look more interesting and lively. You can also set image spacing, width, height, etc.
You can control the grayscale intensity of the images. Choose if you want the images to be overlaid. You can also put a box-shadow for your images and choose a color for the shadow. Using this technique, you can make your posts look awesome!
8. Content wrap settings
This option allows you to set up the style of the different rows. You can choose the padding and other hover settings from this option. You can also set a background color, border radius, tweak box-shadow, inner settings, etc.

You can style the pagination button from this option. There are many settings like pagination, load more, and next/previous. All of them are AJAX powered.
10. Excerpt settings
From here firstly you can choose whether to show the excerpt or not. If you decide to show it you can set the limit of characters you want to show. You can also choose the color, the typography, and the padding.
This is an optional setting because adding excerpts may or may not improve your overall design. But it gives your users a little bit of context on the post. So experiment with it and see if this option is useful to you.
11. Read More settings
The read more button that allows the users to explore the blog can be styled from this option. It can create more user engagement. It’s important that the audience can access the button easily.
If you don’t see this setting, then probably the read more button is disabled. From your General settings, find the read more button and enable it.
